Let’s head into the spring and the Moomin anniversary year! 

In 1945, Tove Jansson published the first Moomin book, “The Moomins and the Great Flood.” The book started the successful journey of the Moomins that continues. Martinex is one of the first Moomin licensee partners, having produced Moomin products under the Moomin by Martinex brand since 1992. We celebrate the Moomins 80th anniversary year with great new products, featuring the Moomins.

Our Moomin spring collection 2025 is filled with joy, celebration, and happiness. According to our designer: “The collection is inspired by the awakening nature and all activities one can do after a long winter. The Moomins fly their kites, celebrate the spring, and go on a picnic – only to return to the Moominhouse. Because as we know, the Moominhouse is open for everyone. Now all friends are invited to celebrate spring together with the Moomins – come and join us!” 

The collection features clothing in matching prints for both babies and children, in sizes 56-86 cm and 92-128 cm. There are many opportunities to match with siblings, cousins, and friends. Whether you were looking for adorable dresses with lovely details and frilly hems, super soft nightwear and pyjamas, or soft sweatshirts, t-shirts and leggings, look no further: our collection has all of this, and more!

The spring collection is very functional versatile. The children’s clothing pieces are a great fit for daycare, school, birthday parties, and spending time at home. Our tulle dresses and other dresses are perfect for festive moments with their frilly hems and other lovely details. The bodysuit dresses for babies are pure perfection: the outfit stays beautifully and comfortably in place while the baby is lounging on the play mat, crawling on the floor, or being lifted into someone's arms. Hoodies, hats, and sweatpants are very popular on warm spring days, for shopping trips, or worn under overalls.

The Moomin children’s collection is playful with colours and energetic prints. The purple Cherry blossom print is especially adorable and the Celebrate print is filled with fun details of celebration, available in pink and blue. The Greenery print is true to its name with its green details, The adorable Costumes print is especially cute with its warm pink shades, and the Slide print is especially energetic and colourful. 

Home yard is a very rich print in teal, whereas the Water colours print is very calm and muted. The warm Builders print is very soft with its beige colour and happy Moomins. The dark blue Kites print is filled with the light happiness of a spring’s day. 

The Beloved print, designed for Valentine’s day, is very heartfelt and adorable. It is available in a large collection of different products, from children’s and adult’s clothing to bags and home products. Celebrate and Cherry blossom

The anniversary Celebrate print is available for both pink and blue, and it is an ode to the 80th anniversary year of the Moomins. 

“It is a celebration in the Moominvalley! The trees are adorned with lanterns and streamers, there is music playing and dancing. Sniff invites others to enjoy some treats, but no one seems to be having time for that amidst a competition.  Oh, what a lovely atmosphere!”

This bubbling, joyful print is available in both pink and blue. In pink, the print is available for babies in a bodysuit, a pyjama, a tulle dress, leggings, an overall, and a scarf. For larger children, the print is available in a tulle dress, a frilly-hemmed tunic, leggings, and a college shirt.

The colourful Cherry blossom print is inspired by the iconic spring event, the bloom of cherry blossoms. The air might be a bit crispy, but there is a promise of summer in the air. 

“ The cherry trees of the Moominvalley have blossomed. Spring is finally here! Snorkmaiden, Moominmamma, and Little My are admiring how the cherry blossoms make everything around them so beautiful!”

The Cherry blossom is available for babies in a bodysuit, a pyjama, a beanie, a scarf, and trousers with a reversible waistline and cuffs. These details make these trousers very durable in the long run, when the baby is growing fast!

For children, the print is available in a pocket dress, a beanie, and leggings. How cute!

Costumes and Slide

According to our designer: ”Spring is the perfect time to clean out the closets! Snorkmaiden is testing her clothes when Moominmamma watches. It seems that Mymble has lost her interest and seems to be engrossed in a book.”

The pink Costumes print  is available for babies in a bodysuit, a pyjama, a scarf, and a bodysuit dress, which continues to be one of our most beloved clothing pieces, thanks to its bodysuit bottom and voluminous hem. For children, the print is available in two dresses: One with a voluminous hem and another with a two-tiered, frilly hem. 

Snorkmaiden is trying to different clothes and accessories, showing them off to Moominmamma. There are so many lovely things to wear and Snorkmaiden cannot decide which outfit is the best!

”The Slide print is inspired by joy and fun moments spent with friends. This print is filled with laughter, as the Moomins are using a slide quite energetically. These are wavy stripes that bring colour and movement into the print”, our designer describes the print.

This joyful and colourful print will be one of the most popular of our spring collection. It is available for babies in a bodysuit, a long-sleeved pyjama, a beanie, a scarf, and a teardrop-shaped dress. For children, the print is available in a long-sleeved shirt, a hoodie, a beanie, and a flared dress.

”Moomintroll, Snorkmaiden, and Little My are going down a slide, and having so much fun! Snorkmaiden is off to enjoy the swings for a bit. Swinging and going down a slide is so much more fun with friends!”

Home yard, Water colours, Builders

The Home yard print is inspired by the iconic Moominhouse and their iconic yard that is always filled with life: some leave, some arrive, and some may have set a small fire next to the entrance.

”Moominvalley is a good place to live. In the middle there is the Moominhouse,a good place to leave for an adventure and return. Stinky is sitting by the campfire with Snufkin playing music. The Moomin family is off somewhere with their backpacks. Life is good at the home yard and away!”

The Home yard print is filled with colour, and it is available for babies in a long-sleeved bodysuit and pyjama, a scarf, a beanie, and an overall. For larger children, the print is available in a long-sleeved shirt, a beanie, and a college shirt which is brushed soft on the inside. How lovely!

The Home yard print is also available in a wallet, pencil case, backpack, lunch box, straw mug, and water bottle, with detachable straw. Have fun with the Moomins at the Home yard!

“Everyone at the Moominvalley is enjoying painting! There are paintbrush strokes everywhere and paint splatter, too. What are Moominpappa, Moomintroll, Snufkin, and Stinky creating? Even the Constable is curious!”

Track suits

Our popular and awaited track suits are available in new prints and colours. There is a pink track suit with the Gleam print and the rich Twilight print in blue. Both prints are filled with joy and ambience, featuring the Moominvalley characters.

Our track suits are designed to be very comfortable with their long raglan sleeves, zippers, and elastic cuffs at the sleeves and trouser cuffs. The zipper puller is covered at the top, and the waistline is elastic, too. The material is elastic and very comfortable to wear.  Pretty perfect, aren’t they?

Ps. The track jacket goes well with solid-coloured college trousers, or jeans, too!

Valentines collection 

The crown jewel of our spring collection is the pink Valentines collection, featuring the heartfelt Beloved print. The collection has a heart motif, with lovely new arrivals for babies, children, and adults. The beloved print is also available in our bag collection’s pouch bags and an ecologic tote bag. It is available in our home collection in different tin boxes, a mug, a kitchen towel, and a straw mug. How cute!

”Oh Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden, they are very cute together, sitting side by side, looking at each other adoringly. Their faces are beaming with tenderness and joy as they have everything they need right in this moment. Little My is enjoying the atmosphere too – she knows she is cared for by people. How lovely!”

Adults

The adult’s spring collection 2025 is especially colourful with lovely prints. Our popular Magnolia print is available in dark blue, and the Floora print is available in purple florals. The black-and-white Park print is especially stylish with its details. We have brought back the Angry Moomintroll print in t-shirts and a blue college shirt. The Smirk print is available in a grey hoodie, too! How perfect.

Our adult’s collection has many solid-coloured clothing pieces that enchant Moomin fans with separate prints on clothing pieces, rather than all-over-prints. For example, the purple Together t-shirt and hoodie are especially charming. There is a print of Moomin friends under colourful paper lanterns on the chest. This light hoodie is very comfortable to wear in the spring!

Ps. Our super popular Senja hoodie is now available in purple, starring Moominmamma. Simple and comfortable, with a dash of Moomin energy!

Bags

What is spring without bags? Our large selection of Moomin bags has small wallets, pouch bags, shoulder bags, ecologic tote bags, and backpacks. Whether you were looking for a small wallet or a backpack for many different occasions, their materials and meticulous details emphasise comfort, durability, and Moomin joy.

The spring bag collection has new solid-coloured bags which feature singular Moomin characters. The prints of the bag selection are the black-and-white Park, blue Magnolia, delicate Spring chestnut, adorable Beloved, and the colourful Home yard. There are bags with different prints available, as well.

Our most anticipated new arrivals are the playful Little My shoulder bag, the cylinder-shapes Moominhouse shoulder bag, shaped like the Moominhouse itself, and the Snorkmaiden bag with ruffles. Our new backpack arrival is the rounded Surku backpack, with two open pockets and all our meticulous back details, such as the padded shoulder straps. The Surku backpacks are available with Little My, Stinky, and Moomintroll. 

Ps. Moomin bags do not have an age recommendation, but the Moomin shoulder bag, Moominhouse shoulder bag, and Taika bag are a perfect fit for children, as they are designed to little Moomin fans, down to the length of the shoulder strap.
